La cantautrice svedese Edda Magnason presenta il nuovo album "Goods" - un eccentrico ma elegantissimo mix di pop, folk e jazz - in uscita il 16 Settembre per l'etichetta di Malmo Adrian Recordings.

Come nell'album precedente Edda ti accompagnerà con le sue fresche liriche e la sua voce avventurosa, ma in “Goods” non è solo il pianoforte di Edda a formare l'ossatura musicale: qui c'è un'intera orchestra, strane tastiere, sitars elettrificati e cori di marinai russi.
La musica ti conduce attraverso città e giungle, giù, al porto, dove i pescherecci stanno partendo per il Giappone, il modo particolare di suonare il pianoforte di Edda ti porta in vicoli con discariche e nidi di gazze.
Dal successo da discoteca "Handsome", dalle piste da ballo, verrai trasportato su un veliero in mezzo al rollìo delle
onde, salendo fino alle stelle con "Ancient Star My Innocence Heart".
I testi di Edda sono soprattutto immagini, a volte rappresentano episodi magici della vita quotidiana, altre volte raccontano intere storie.
Nei testi giocosi si possono intravvedere anche accenni alla politica, come in "Magpie's Nest".
A volte non ci sono parole e allora la musica racconta da sola l'intera storia, come in "Hug Jag Forestaller Mig Det Ar Att Segla (How I imagine sailing)", nel brano "Camera" il testo è costituito da un unico verso "Have you seen the world in that one million camera?" che ci trasporta in un angolo diverso del pianeta ogni volta che viene ripetuto.
Edda ha disegnato personalmente il booklet del disco lavorandoci durante le registrazioni dell'album.
"Goods" è il suo secondo disco e sarà disponibile dal 16 Settembre.

Open the cover and take out the salmon pink booklet with the black print. Sit back and immerse yourself in another reality. Just like on the last album, Edda guides you around with her vivid lyrics and her adventurous voice, but on "Goods" it's no longer just Edda's piano playing that forms the musical backbone; now there's full orchestration, strange keyboards, electric sitars and choirs of Russian sailors.
The music moves us through cities and jungles, down to the harbor where the trawlers are leaving for Japan. Edda's distinctive piano playing leads us into back streets with garbage dumps and magpies' nests. From a disco booms "Handsome" from the dance floor, and then we're taken out on a sailing trip over rolling waves, escalating up to the star strewn "Ancient Star My Innocent Heart".
Edda's lyrics are primarily depictions; sometimes they are magical situations from everyday life, sometimes whole stories are being told. In the playful lyrics you can occasionally even sense a political undertone, as in "Magpie's Nest".
Sometimes there are no words at all and then the music tells the whole story, as in “Hur Jag Föreställer Mig Det Är Att Segla (How I Imagine Sailing)” or the song "Camera" where the single line, "Have you seen the world in that one million camera?" transports us to a new place on earth each time it is sung.
Edda has made the album cover herself and worked on it while recording the album.
"Goods" is her second album, out on September 16th.
